Boutique Garden Retreat | Flat, Easy Walk to Town | Art-Filled Sanctuary
Welcome to a truly special Queenstown stay. Boutique design, nature, and
tranquillity meet, moments’ walk from the vibrant town centre.
A flat 5-minute stroll brings you into the heart of Queenstown; with its restaurants,
lively bars, shopping, adventure activities, and transport links all at your fingertips.
Yet, returning home feels like stepping into another world that is quiet, private, and
deeply relaxing.
This beautifully renovated property offers boutique accommodation surrounded by
mature gardens and native bush, alive with Tūī and Bellbird song. This space carries
a unique sense of calm, making it a peaceful retreat to rest, recharge, and
reconnect.
For more than 25 years, the characterful building was part of our family’s life and a
small part of Queenstown’s story.
For much of that time, it was home to our chiropractic and healthcare clinic.
Thousands of locals and visitors passed through its doors, including people from the
worlds of film, sport and entertainment.
When the clinic eventually closed, we didn’t want to erase that history or turn the
building into another anonymous holiday apartment.
Instead, we carefully transformed it into two individual places to stay: Birdsong, a
spacious two-bedroom upper apartment, and Stream Side, a peaceful one-bedroom
apartment below.

Birdsong | 2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, kitchen

Stream Side | 1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Kitchen
2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, kitchen
We wanted to preserve the personality of the building with original artwork,
collections of furniture and little quirks that make it feel like somewhere with a story.
So, there are a few things you won’t find in a typical holiday rental.
Look up in the lounge and you’ll find something unexpected: a small replica of the
Sistine Chapel on the ceiling.
Before it became a living space, this room was part of the chiropractic clinic.
Occasionally following a chiropractic treatment, a patient may exclaim, “Oh God!”
After hearing that a few times, adding the Sistine Chapel replica above the treatment
table seemed entirely appropriate.
When we converted the building, we could easily have painted over it, but we
decided it had to stay as it’s part of the building’s history and we hope it gives our
guests a smile too.
There’s another piece of history in the laundry: an old clinic door covered over the
years with signatures and messages from people who have passed through. Some
familiar names from film and sport may still be found amongst them.
Today the treatment tables are gone, but it doesn’t mean that the healing has gone.
The vibe is calming, relaxing and rejuvenating. Birdsong offers generous bedrooms,
comfortable living spaces, quality linen, a well-equipped kitchen and everything you
need to settle in and make yourself at home.
Outside the windows are the trees and native birds that give the apartment its name.
And when you’re ready for the energy of Queenstown, simply walk out the door.
You’re only minutes away. Birdsong is a little bit quirky, very comfortable and
unmistakably its own place.
Whether you’re enjoying your morning coffee in the garden or unwinding after a day
on the lake or slopes, this home offers a sense of ease and understated luxury.
Ideal for couples or friends travelling together, the main residence combines comfort,
style, and thoughtful design.

You can enjoy the quiet of the garden, then walk out the door and, within minutes,

Why You’ll Love It
This has a rare combination of location, design, and natural beauty. Close enough to
enjoy everything Queenstown has to offer, yet removed from the noise. This
property offers a genuine sense of retreat.
Whether you’re here for adventure, relaxation, or a bit of both, you’ll find your perfect
base here.
Two apartments, one special property
Birdsong and Stream Side are in the same character building, but they are separate
and self-contained.
This is also one of the property’s advantages.
Guests booking either apartment have their own private accommodation. However,
for families or friends travelling together, the two apartments can also be booked
together.
Grandparents can have Stream Side while the family stays upstairs in Birdsong. Two
couples or groups of friends can holiday together without having to share every part
of their accommodation.
It gives you something that’s often difficult to find: the opportunity to be together
while still having your own space.
We look forward to welcoming you.
